Rezept für Char Siu with Rice
Ingredients
For 1–2 servings
- 300–350 g pork (pork neck or pork loin)
- 150 g rice (uncooked, jasmine or long-grain rice)
- 3–4 tbsp Lee Kum Kee Char Siu Sauce
- 1 tsp honey (optional, for shine)
- a little vegetable oil
- Water (for cooking the rice)
Step by Step
STEP 1
Wash the rice according to package directions and cook with water. Keep warm.
STEP 2
Cut the pork into elongated pieces. Rub evenly with Char Siu sauce (and optional honey). Marinate for at least 30 minutes (longer for a more intense flavor).
STEP 3
Preheat the oven to 200 °C (top/bottom heat). Place the meat on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush lightly with oil.
STEP 4
Cook the meat for 20–25 minutes, turning once and brushing with the remaining marinade until the surface is slightly caramelized.
STEP 5
Remove the meat from the oven, let it rest briefly, then slice it.
STEP 6
Place rice on plates, arrange Char Siu on top and serve with a little sauce.
